Ken Ross, Chaplain Liaison

I have been a volunteer at the Prison Book Project since 2009. When I retired from Florida Power and Light Company, I was looking for a ministry I could get involved in that would make a difference. The Lord led me to the Prison Book Project and it is very rewarding to know we are making a difference in the lives of the men and women in prison. The Lord uses the books we send to them to lead them from the kingdom of darkness to the Kingdom of Light. My duties in the past have included writing grant requests and thank you notes to those who have made a contribution to this ministry. Currently, I have the privilege of calling prisons to determine the number of boxes of books they can use. It is a blessing to me to hear the excitement in the voice of a chaplain when they know they are going to get a shipment of Christian books that will assist them in their ministry. We know these books will get into the hands of the people who need to read them because,

My word which goes forth from My mouth will not return to Me empty, without accomplishing what I desire, and without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11

Dennis Adamson

Dennis Adamson joined the PBP board in 2014 after retiring as Senior Chaplain at the Brevard County Jail.  Dennis’ call to ministry came in 2002 when his 29 year-old prodigal son Matt was diagnosed with cancer. Matt died in 2003 but not before surrendering his life to Christ. Matt had been a troubled youth and was incarcerated as a teenager. Sensing that God wanted Dennis to share Matt’s inspiring story, he enrolled in seminary and graduated in 2007. He serves as secretary of the PBP board and volunteers on Wednesdays, stamping books and calling correctional chaplains across the country offering books and Bibles to the inmates they have under their care. Prior to his time in ministry, Dennis spent 13 years in news and public affairs broadcasting and 23 years in property/casualty insurance.
